I used to be a big baseball fan and went to a lot of games no matter what month it was. But I kind of lost the respect for this game when my baseball heroes were busted for using anabolic steroids or other performance enhancing substances. I like to see them give their best on the field and put on a great show but it just ain't that fun anymore when I know they're juicing.

Re: 10 Things to Love/Hate about the World Baseball Classic

I was at last night's USA/Japan game and was disappointed at the number of empty seats. Bu it was fun for the number of innings we were able to brave out in the cool weather (it was a school night, after all).

The MLB season is so damn long, I wonder if would ever be possible to hold this even in warmer weather. If they were to hold it at the end of the season, there's a greater risk of snow! I really like this series and hope that it will continue.

Re: 10 Things to Love/Hate about the World Baseball Classic

Go Korea!

I watched them beat up on Mexico down here in San Diego. It was a great game. The stadium for the Korea-Mexico game couldn't have been more than 50% full, but those were the loudest freakin 20,000 people I've ever heard at a baseball game.

I really wish more people were interested in this. It's refreshing to see how other countries approach the game and the overseas players seem to be taking it more seriously than your typical overpaid and under-motivated Major Leaguer. Last night's US vs Japan game was pitiful. Adam Dunn playing right field? Are you kidding me???? There wasn't anyone else that was willing to play? He did the best he could, but come on, he's a DH not a right fielder...
