They ripped the video to shreds (always my favorite part of Beavis) and one of their comments went something like "if these are the cool kids, I'd hate to see the uncool ones! Huh-huh-huh, heh-heh!")

Re: Blatant Pop Attempts: Kix, “Cool Kids”

Didn't Beavis and Butt-head once ponder how lame the UN-cool kids must have been?

Re: Blatant Pop Attempts: Kix, “Cool Kids”

Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Are you telling me there's actually an album titled "Kix: The Essentials"?

Re: Blatant Pop Attempts: Kix, “Cool Kids”

Oh, I was paying attention. Kix is from Maryland, and I did my high school penance there. I couldn't get AWAY from these guys. Sometimes I hear "I got the ITCH...I got it...I got the ITCH...." in my nightmares. I have this album, and their first one, on vinyl. God help me.

Re: Blatant Pop Attempts: Kix, “Cool Kids”

IMHO, you've got to go to their third album (Midnite Dynamite) before they get good, then the next 2 are even better ("Blow My Fuse" had the hit). The last one is mostly disposable (though I still like "Book To Hypnotize" and "If You Run Around"). Pick up "The Essentials " as a good start.

Re: Blatant Pop Attempts: Kix, “Cool Kids”

Kix are a recurring meme in Chuck Eddy's book Stairway to Hell. He also wrote a profile of them for the Village Voice c. 1990 that one wishes was online...

Re: Blatant Pop Attempts: Kix, “Cool Kids”

God help me, but I think I prefer "Don't Close Your Eyes."
