I'm curious, are you not a fan of "Made in Heaven" or do you think they'll put out something like it again?

I am indeed a fan of Made in Heaven. If you're referring to me putting the word "final" in quotes, it's because some might consider the Queen + PR album as the "next" Queen album. I personally don't; the 1995 release is where it ends for me.

Ah. I liked the US tour, but the new album might just possibly tie with Hot Space for least played. It's funny, because the first Brian May CD is one of my favorite CDs ever, I only like Night At The Opera News Of The World and Innuendo better.

The thing that made Queen so important was that they had a distinct sound, not only from Mercury's voice, but from May's guitar, and the contributions of Deacon and Taylor. When Taylor steps out to sing, "These Are The Days Of Our Lives", that is Queen. When Paul Rodgers sings it, that is not.

I'd definitely check this book out, but judging from your description, none of this sounds inexpensive.

The book retails at $40 and Amazon has it for $26, I think, which I thought was more than reasonable for a book of this quality.

And I agree with you. Did you see them in NJ back in '06? I enjoyed moments like that one, or when Brian led the crowd in "'39," but I just couldn't get behind Paul Rodgers singing those songs. Nothing against him. The fit just didn't feel right.

Nah, I just couldn't get behind Paul Rodgers in that venture. If that group wanted to go out under another name, fine. I could see that, but calling it Queen without Freddie just stinks of opportunism. I saw bits of their tour on a PBS special, and was really moved by when Taylor did that. That's the thing - casual fans don't really know how much Deacon wrote for the band and how much Taylor sang ("I'm In Love With My Car" for pete's sake!)

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I wish Brian and John would give George Michael a call.

I don't know if George Michael still has it.
