This whole post made me laugh out loud repeatedly. ("Hurry up and suck!" "Oh, never mind, he is.") It was almost disappointing when I clicked on the video at the end and realized I still really like the song.

By the way, you forgot to finish your sentence. "Soulless crap factory whose albums were reviled by thinking people everywhere...while making fistloads of money and spawning three number 1 US hits."

Damn. I'd thought more people had seen this, or were at least aware of it.

Ah, for the days when premium channels shut down at midnight and would show just about anything during the daytime.

Anyway, you're in for a treat. Costumes shiny enough to put alien woman to shame (is that her bounding across the screen at the beginning of the video, btw?), glowing superimposed pimpmobiles, and Vladek Sheybal too.

Funny, after following that link up above, I don't seem to remember the "Coming" song. You'd think I would, but then I originally caught this during the early 80s, and I can't imagine that in a daytime movie ...

Yes, you do. I own this film, having purchased it on the assurances of one Drew Carey that it's one of the best bad movies ever. Right up there with "Boat Trip." :-)

Right after I saw the picture of alien woman, I looked up at the screen here at the Whistler Olympic Park ski jump/cross-country media center, and guess what I saw ... yep, an alien woman. She lives on, as does some weird version of Balin-Kantner-Freiburg-people found wandering in San Francisco Starship/Airplane.

Sad thing is that I like this song.
