Popdose: CAPTAIN VIDEO!: LeRoux, “Carrie’s Gone”

My two favorite moments of this video:

    (1) When "Fergie" is joined by the rest of his band members/posse in the back alley confrontation, the bearded rhythym guitarist walks over....with his hand on his whole hip the entire time he's walking. And with the addition of the leather jacket and the Panama hat, he ends up coming across like a gay Indiana Jones morphed with Mike Nesmith.

    (2) When the "bad guy" blows off the brunette who puts her arm around him just after he enters the bar club. He steps away to reveal the neon sign: Hot Nuts. Now THAT'S cinematography!

Yeah, that "Hot Nuts" sign shows up over and over again toward the end of the video. It had to be some sort of inside joke...right?

Well, they reunited, but still without Bobby Campo - I think all the flute music is from a keyboard these days. Campo has put out a solo jazz album in the past 10 years or so playing the Trumpet I think. He's also become a band teacher at a high school in Baton Rouge.

Please tell me the band's name is pronounced "Leroy."

Wow, it's like Dokken, only...worse. I never thought that was possible.

Is there any sort of saying, or possibly a Bible verse, that starts "She who lies with douchebags ..."

Gotta love those 80s production values where even plain ol' mansions look like scenes from Lost In Space.

And the plane at the end represents what?

One long round trip to oblivion, methinks.

    Ah, c'mon. I liked "Isolation."

Mr. Mytzlplyk joke. That's diggin' deep.

What is up with Fergie's arms in the first minute of this thing? It's like he can't straighten them or something. Poor Fergie.

I loved "Nobody Said It Was Easy." I don't know why--it kinda sucks--but I really did.
