On one of the songs on this album he actually mentions the address, referring to it as his "stash spot." I'm so proud. (Terence Blanchard also lived here. So did Lord Jamar, who played "Supreme Allah" on the HBO show OZ. He lived in what's now our crib--and the building owner joked that it was definitely a stash spot, not that I've found any evidence.)

Re: CD Review: Jay-Z, “The Blueprint 3”

Sorry Fab Four love (not fab Five - must have had Michigan Basketball on the brain)....

Re: CD Review: Jay-Z, “The Blueprint 3”

Good review Jeff. I agree that the album falls of the table in the second half. Rap is not my major forte, but Jay Z is the Sinatra of Rap and someone I always look forward to hearing. He could very well be the coolest guy in this country right now. "D.O.A." is biting and a much needed kick-in-the-ass for the artist that abuse that tool. I hope he keeps it coming for us 30-somethings.

I was half expecting, with all things Beatles this week, for a "Grey Album" review. Danger Mouse's labor of HOVA/Fab Five love is without a doubt going to make my Top 10 of the 00's list. I can't listen to "December 4th" or "Helter Skelter" the same way again; "Grey" is a marriage made in time-warp and pop icon heaven.

Later,
B

Re: CD Review: Jay-Z, “The Blueprint 3”

This is a pretty spot on review. I'm not a big rap fan - but Jay-Z is one artist that I will buy and this is a bit disappointing. There's a whole lot that doesn't stand out in the crowd on this one.
