CHART ATTACK!: 11/20/76
I once bought a video at a yard sale called "Michael Bolton's Winning Softball." The first lines of the video were. "Hi, I'm Michael Bolton. You're probably asking yourself, 'What does Michael Bolton know about softball'?" He read my mind!
But no, he just called the cops.
Ken, you must understand that the mullett did not just come in 1980. In most parts of the country 1982 was still shedding it's 70's past, Yes, in most major metro areas, mens ears could be seen for the first time since about 1966, as after this period of time, hair grew over the ears. But for the rest of us and 70's holdovers like all members of Asia, we still had the helmet, feathered 1978 look going on.
Most 70's "rockers' did not adopt the mullett look until about 1986.(See 38 special, "This Night" video. They even wear Miami Vice Vice blazers with sleeves pushed up) Therefore you must take back the points given to Asia since they would not have adopted the awsome hairstyle just yet. Only the New Wavers would have had it. Besides they mention the word "Disco" in this song which I was even confused with since it was 82 and Disco was dead. Remember Blah blah blah in 82, The disco hotspots were a blah blah to you!!!
I should get a colim here and write about the development of 80's hairstyles.
