You don't get the premise, you don't get the humor, you don't get the music... at all. A few things: The version of the Art Of Noise's "Dragnet" on this album is not the one that appeared in the movie. The version they should have used is the "Art Of Noise, 7" Arthur Baker Mix", which is a lot more like the screen version. And, Pat Thrall and Peter Aykroyd's "Dance Or Die" is actually a slightly reformulated version of their rejected attempt at a theme for "Ghostbusters". Also, Ira Newborn's music is just about any film is amazing. I wish the score section was actually expanded.

Re: Cutouts Gone Wild!: Various Artists, “Dragnet Original Soundtrack”

The download links seem broken, can they be fixed? I forgot how much I loved this song...

I'd like to forget again. I think a week'd do it.

Re: Cutouts Gone Wild!: Various Artists, “Dragnet Original Soundtrack”

Bless your heart, John. But it reminds me of a bygone day when Tom Hanks would act goofy and was funny. I miss the goofy and funny Tom Hanks.

Re: Cutouts Gone Wild!: Various Artists, “Dragnet Original Soundtrack”

When Playboy held its anniversary celebration in Vegas...at the Palms, of course (where else would you celebrate Playboy?)...I had the good fortune to exchange a high-five with Ava Fabian. I couldn't help myself, my idol Arthur Baker remixed it. (It sucked, by the way.)

As bad as "City of Crime" is, it has nothing on the remake of "Land of a Thousand Dances" Aykroyd would do two years later. Remember that? No? You've forgotten it? Good for you. Keep it that way.

Re: Cutouts Gone Wild!: Various Artists, “Dragnet Original Soundtrack”

I totally had this soundtrack on tape! Maybe I can still find it on VHS at the library. So I can revisit its mediocrity. :)

Re: Cutouts Gone Wild!: Various Artists, “Dragnet Original Soundtrack”

Wow...this should have stayed dead and buried! There is one cutout that comes to mind that isn't on CD yet...the New Wave legends Modern English album STOP START. Could be one to feature in a future edition?
