CHART ATTACK!: 11/20/76
Except for the first one, I've never much cared for Jason. But, manfully, I saw most of them theatrically; a half-in-the-bag grindhouse crowd in Chicago in the mid-80s makes anything watchable.
PART 3 had excellent 3D theatrically, better than most of the productions from that first stab at reviving the format (and, weak as it is, it's a better movie than JAWS 3-D, PARASITE, etc.). I took my sister to see it and we had a great time. The effect is naturally dumbed down on the disc, and the bright, stable image it had in theaters is gone, but there are still some nice moments, like the billowing clothes on the laundry line at the start of the movie.
Oh, and I love HALLOWEEN III. If they'd dropped the HALLOWEEN from the title and just called it SEASON OF THE WITCH it would stand as a minor classic; as it is, it has a fervent cult. (Unlike the other HALLOWEEN sequels and reboots, which are awful; much worse than the FRIDAY THE 13ths.)
