Malchus · 9 months agoThe one thing about this performance by Penn and the movie as a whole that I didn't expect was the joy of life that existed in it. While we knew going into the film that Harvey Milk was going to die, the shadow of death didn't hang over the film like I thought it would. Van Sant brought a playfulness in Penn that we haven't seen from him in a long time (maybe the last time was SWEET AND LOWDOWN).

DP · 9 months agoRegarding Slumdog Millionaire - while Danny Boyle deserves a kudos, the real and unsung heroes of this movies are the Indian counterparts. The assistant director, the actors, the music - the asst. director served as a huge liason between the director and cast. This was a team effort even though only the director got recognition!
