I am am so glad that "Fabulous" is getting a good review. I feel exactly how you feel. This disc is really good and I am still holding out that a remixer from the states would take a chance and remix some of the songs so that Universal Records stateside would take notice and push Sheena back into the limelight.

Retro seems to do well for older artists right now and Sheena Easton would be a perfect artist for this. She will be turning 50 years old in 2009 and it would be so cool to have Sheena Easton belting out songs from Fabulous representing her as a retro artist and showing that pop queens like Sheena are still doing what they do best.

If you have any pull in this area you should start it yourself. Let's get Sheena Easton back in the limelight again. She always says she is not interested in doing a new disc now but since "Fabulous" is not retro and not dated she could have another hit album stateside.

Peace,
Sanatino

Re: Future Retro: Sheena Easton, “Fabulous”

Exactly. They can't possibly top the originals but I don't think any artist could. I think Sheena's album was probably meant more for a younger audience hence the concentration on mechanical beats and sometimes laid-back vocals. Cover albums are a dime a dozen but I was glad when this surfaced as part of Sheena's discography. Something different in a sea of soulless A/C she had been doing for years.

Re: Future Retro: Sheena Easton, “Fabulous”

One unfortunate consequence: Sheena's version of "Don't Leave Me This Way" makes me wish you had also posted the original. I mean, Sheena did alright but, man, the original is still awesome.
