I still have my vinyl copy of Meet Danny Wilson. It's nice to be re-acquainted. Would love to hear that version of "Knowing Me, Knowing You," though...

And I wish I could've offered it up, along with their take on "Kooks," but I'll be damned if I can find my CD-R of the rarities disc of "Sweet Danny Wilson." (My confession: the original version that I purchased on my honeymoon ended up being sold for $100 on eBay at a time when I desperately needed the cash.) But if I can find them floating around on the 'net, I will be sure to share.

You were dead on about "Mary's Prayer" - I didn't even know the title of the song, let alone who did it, but from the first notes I knew exactly what I was hearing. Thanks for clearing this one up!

"Mary's Prayer" is the perfect pop song, and my preferred take on '80s production. If this is all Mr. Clark had done, he would have done more than most.

That said, the King L stuff here is GREAT! Thanks for sharing!

I am loving this interview. Recently did a post on some late-80s singles, and Danny Wilson was high up on that list. Looking forward to part two!
