Popdose: Into the Ear of Madness: Week 31 — Foster Freeze | Popdose

That track sounded like what would happen if David Foster produced a Triumvirat record. As cheesy as it was, it is light years better than anything that came out of the three scenarios so eloquently described in the write-up.

As far as torturing Jeff, how about he may only play Wing to try to get the wife in "the mood".

I keep telling you guys, my wife has grown numb to this stuff. She complains about Mellowmas every year, but she's adopted the Bobby Knight philosophy.

"Foster Frees"? Is he comparing his mind-expanding grooviness to softserve ice cream? <http://www.fostersfreeze.com/>

Sorry your honor will make you suffer, Terje ... but I'm going to keep enjoying your experiment. Don't ask anything of Jeff until your mind has buckled under more later Foster. I'm thinking, late April.

My first thought was: Terje has jumped the snark. Then I thought that, in this downwardly-rending economy, Terje is just playing a leaner, meaner game. Then I realized that he's finally come around to my way of thinking about Ye Olde Foss. Thus, 2009 shall be remembered as a fine year, the year in which David Foster Finally Gets His, Albeit In a Blog He Probably Is Too Important to Read.

    Get him, Terje!

Hm, so, I take it that you're not a fan of Modern-Day Foster? Do I detect a trace of bitterness? Well, so be it then. I am still a fan, not necessarily of his commercial over-the-top ballads, but of the genius way he reinvented himself (or rather, remarketed himself) and his "I don't give a shit what you think" attitude he seems to carry. And I still have the "old" songs to reflect on.

By the way, it wasn't just a week of Foster on PBS. No, the "beg-a-thon" with Foster continues, even this month they are playing it. And you'll be happy to note that in the Southern California PBS stations, he made special appearances. He IS everywhere at the moment. He even wrote an article in the LA Time Magazine about his love for the city (&surrounding area) of Los Angeles. He is Mr "POP"ular - pop stands for popular, don't cha know?

As for your "rare, exotic" name, there is a sports related show called, "Terje's Season Pass" on a channel called FUEL in the states. I watched it just so I could hear how they pronounce Terje.

For Jeff's punishment: HE must listen to only Foster songs for a year (or more) AND interview Foster himself.

I cannot wait to see what you have in store for the weeks to come! Bring it on!! It's gonna get really nasty.

I'm happy to see that so many of you are still here. I only hope that I can live up to all of your expectations in weeks to come -- I'm searching for motivation with a microscope.
