I've bookmarked lostinthe80s.blogspot.com two years ago, and read it on a weekly basis - it really sheds some bright light on the most obscure moments of eighties music. But I didn't bookmark popdose - so I missed this post, and the mixes of Love Train, too. Shame on me.

I have those mixes on the original vinyl single, but never managed to have it ripped to mp3. Any chances of having those files available for download again?

Many many thanks in advance (even if you don't share those files again).

I've seen "Atomic City" on YouTube - it may be off now, but keep checking - someone will repost it eventually. I've never seen "Heaven's Here" either!

I would never have called it beforehand, but Paul Rutherford's solo album "Oh World" whips the living tar out of any of Holly's post-FGTH stuff.

I was never a FGTH fan in the least, so had no idea why i bought this album at the time, but I did.

I tried to like it, but there's some horrible, hookless songs like 'Success' and 'Atomic City' stinking up the place. My sister burst out laughing when she saw the video for 'Atomic City', (the Palm Tree Head moment'), and even that gave me pause for ever playing this again.

I do still like 'Americanos' though. The combination of S/A/W style chugging bass synths with tijuana brass, diva backing vocals and snarky social commentary is unique.

You're dead on with this one. I never was a FGTH fan - but Blast had to disappoint fans. But while it's nothing unique or special - it's pretty good, harmless, fun pop music. It's still an album I would have to have a very good reason to go back and listen to again - I don't think it stands out enough to ever be on my radar.
