    Your story moved me!
You can find loads of 7" and 12" (UK extended remixes) on ebay.
Let me know if you'd like mp3 of the UK versions, including the two b-sides which were not released on the US 12".
For the die hard Belle Stars fans (like me!) check out my fansite.

I think I can pretty much guarantee that Mr. Hughes wants copies of those mp3s. I know I do! It does, by the way, seem that "World Domination" was released on CD at least once, on this '80s compilation CD (though it may very well be the extended mix; it doesn't specify):

    You are correct!

As far as that comp. goes, it features the awful 5:41 version, too.

And please, call me Mr. JOHN Hughes! ;)

There's not much worse music-wise than discovering a 12" of a song you really like years later and the mix sucks. There's just no recovering from that anticipation and then....splat.

Being that the MCA 12" version you posted here was the one that charted on the dance charts, that's all I own as well - though I should definitely purchase the original. However, if you head on over to Gemm and search for World Domination - you'll find plenty of cheap copies of the original stiff records 7"

Wow that is awful!!! And the comparisons to Bananarama are apt. Sounds just like them.

Cant you just download the video from YouTube and strip the audio off to an MP3?

great story, I'll keep my eyes open for the 45 since it's so close to your heart

I was worried that you might have given up writing these Lost in the 80's write-ups

Keep up the great work, you''re always a good read

Here in Holland you see the 12" in the bins. Yes, not a great mix. Though Shep Pettibone did some good mixes. Remember those for Madonna. Greetings from a big 80's fan!!!

Sounds like what you got was the US 12" version. I don't remember how different it is, but there is another 12" with an extended Paul Harcastle remix. My US 12" lists 2 b-sides but only has an instrumental as a b-sde. The 2 UK b-sdes are great, too-Just a Minute & Rock Me to the Top. Keep searchin'!
