I mean I completely agree that "Whatever Happens" should be a classic the picture it paints is incredible.A music video in an old time Mexican Village in black and white same texture as "Keep it In the Closet" narrating a dramatic love story unfold. As a duo begins and instead of the defender being struck his lover is instead. But SPEECHLESS is def a gem on this album i can't believe you said nothing about it. It is his first acoustic vocals at the beginning and end making it so honest.

Re: Michael Jackson: Invincible

This album is seriously underrated.

Re: Michael Jackson: Invincible

I picked this one up a few months back when I saw it cheap enough, and came away pleasantly surprised - it holds its own when you compare it to the two albums that essentially made Timberlake the new king of pop, and features a good handful of killer songs that released under another name or by someone else (JT? Ne-Yo?) could've been top ten hits. Sure, the length is a problem - just like it was for HIStory or Dangerous, two other albums that would've been great at 9-10 tracks but were way long at 15-16 (and I suspect we would've said the same of Thriller if it featured 16 instead of 9 songs) - but there's a lot of good stuff to cherrypick here, and his singing is as good as ever.

Re: Michael Jackson: Invincible

I lost the MJ plot after "Dangerous," and just started cherry-picking singles. Always liked "You Rock My World" and ""Unbreakable." Made me think this LP was a lot stronger than it sounds like it was ...

Re: Michael Jackson: Invincible

My problem with this album was the sound. The mix was so compressed and 'loud' it literally gave me a headache every time I tried to play the CD. How can I enjoy a CD that gives me a headache? Couldn't they mix and master this any better?

I sold the vinyl LP long ago so I don't know if it sounded any better, and I had kept it sealed. I sure wanted to like it though. For sure "You Rock My World" was a slice of the MJ of old and it was nice to hear him on the radio again. Sadly the experience of hearing it on CD ruined it for me.
