Seriously, though, even on their last few records, which were more club-oriented (a genre I'm not completely in love with), they provided a soulful element to a decidedly electronic environment. That's not easy to do, but it didn't seem too jarring a progression from the stuff on Amplified Heart, where the electronics were used in a subtle fashion.
If I hear Tracey sing "Time After Time," though, I think I might cry ...

Tracey is a better singer now than ever before, to these ears, at least. That's why I'd really love some new EBTG material. Especially something that pushes the boundaries of their usual fare a little bit. Her version of Jobim's Corcovado on Red, Hot & Rio is stellar, though it kind of co-opts Jobim to their own later EBTG style, instead of going genuine bossa nova.
