Puzzle Song (25)
There are so many damn versions of that song, but it sounds like it's probably the one most people think of nowadays, which is the one by Judy Collins. (And if it's not Judy, hopefully its the original version by Glynis Johns.)
There are still seven regular songs to guess. Anyone want to venture the acrostic?
(Not that I'm a Wire fan or anything, but I once made a detour through rural Iowa, just so I could listen to Wire's song "Map Reference 41°N 93°W" at 41 degrees north, 93 degrees west.)
Arensb, I bow to few in my passion for Wire -- Chairs Missing is my favorite rock album of all time -- but you've got me beat.
Oh, and also the smallest chapel I've ever seen.

#18 is driving me nuts; I keep thinking that it's the "make out" theme from when Marmalard and his girlfriend are parking in Animal House. Alas, no idea what that would actually be called, or who wrote it (Elmer Bernstein?)
You are not, I think, crazy, but 1 is not "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder.
Two songs left: a top five hit cover by a band with many hit covers, and a number one hit that's one half of one of the greatest two-sided hits ever, by a band with many hits that helped invent a genre.
I have no idea what #3 is but from your clue I think maybe I should. <embarrassed red face>
"The Show Must Go On" was an early Leo Sayer song, and while the Three Dog Night has the kind of hit-single arrangement and energy that they were so good at, they changed the crucial lyric from Sayer's original "I won't let the show go on" to "I must let the show go on", which has always ruined their version of the song for me.
"Everybody Is a Star" was the other side of "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)", which has to be in the top ten double-sided singles ever.
