Like plot, writing, acting and anything approaching tension.

Criminy, Bob. I thought the first was a solid B, and looked forward to the sequel with all the salivating a del Toro fanboy could muster. But, IMHO ... it sucked. It sucked a CG monster's three-pronged, eyeball-laden phallus.
