I have just finished reading the Stephen Holden review of Angels and Demons. I will give him credit for admitting he is a card carrying fanatic of the Catholic Church, but given his disdain of both the author Dan Brown and his movies should a person of his predjiduce requse himself from reviewing this film and anyother films of connected to Dan Brown.

I was raised Catholic, but I go to an Episcopal church now. (The difference? Openly Lesbian priests instead of closeted Lesbian nuns. . . )
Anyway, what bothers me about the Notre Dame flap is that so many Catholics have fetished fetuses to the point where they overlook other parts of Church doctrine, such as the condemnations on the death penalty, unjust war, poverty, and torture. These are also life issues, but divorced and re-married ex-Catholic death penalty supporter Ronald Reagan was welcomed at Notre Dame, as was the pro-war, pro-death penalty, pro-torture George Bush. If the anti-Obama protesters were more consistent, I'd at least respect them.
