It was almost like Green telling, "Hey, thanks for putting up with all that for the last hour - now here's what you came for."

Re: Pop Goes the World: Scritti Politti, “Umm”

I was totally blown away by this release when it came out. Bought it before I had heard a note. Rap and Scritti Politti? What had Green been doing the last decade in his studio? This was like the indie "Chinese Democracy" (okay, not really, but how could I resist saying something so pretentious??).

"Mystic Handyman," "Here Come July," "First Goodbye." Green really let the guitars loose on this. A real rocking Scritti Politti, spackled together with some hip-hop!

Re: Pop Goes the World: Scritti Politti, “Umm”

Here comes July is a great tune. Perfect for a "Summer Mix".

B

Re: Pop Goes the World: Scritti Politti, “Umm”

I've been meaning to check this one out. I LOVED 2006's "White Bread, Black Beer."

Re: Pop Goes the World: Scritti Politti, “Umm”

If this is what blowing homeless goats really sounds like, then sign me up for the bestiality club.
