Great interview. Marillion are an excellent band and severely underrated. Marbles is the best album I have heard this Century.

Nice interview...though, of course, you'd expect that kind of acceptance from a guy who named his column "Hooks 'N' You." :-)

Great bunch of guys all around, from my experiences with them. I scored a 2-for-1 interview with Steve Rothery and Pete Trewavas last year, and they were just as congenial.

I discovered 'em late, too – when a college buddy recommended "Hooks In You" because he knew I liked my prog rock with a healthy layer of pop (paging Asia ... Asia, please pick up the courtesy phone). It was a great time to get into them, because I had the pleasure of working backward and forward over the timeline between new H work and old Fish stuff. For my money, H is one of the best male vocalists in rock. The man can emote. Hope this PopDose nod gives 'em a new wave of fans.

I've often thought that if I were a serious drummer, I'd be a two-snare player. I like the way he has those set up. I was thrown a little by the ride cymbal on the left, but I'm guessing he sometimes uses it with that piccolo snare over there.
