I'm afraid I have to disagree. The Placebo track is much closer to the scribblings in the photograph. Molko's desparation to rhyme each line of lyrics is only superseded by his detestable voice - which is somehow more annoying than the grunge vocals that he tries to mimic. Placebo is bubbly alt-pop - no matter how angsty and sexually questionable they may be. The problem with "Teenage Angst" is that Molko is actually expressing his feelings. And they are the feelings of a stuck up kid confused about his sexuality. It must have been very hard - until he realized bisexuality has been cool since David Bowie. Molko probably shed a tear or two on his own page of scribblings.

M83's "Teen Angst," though it isn't written like a middle school poem, is trying to musically express the irrational up and down emotions of adolescence. The lyrics are written in a pedestrian manner - not because Gonzalez is an idiot - but because he is trying to express how juvenile teenage thoughts can be. M83's lyrics have always been minimal - their strengths lie much more in their music.

I am sorry for sounding off so negatively on Molko. But come on - Placebo? You guys aren't My Chemical Romance fans are you?
