Lotsa years. There are several of his books, though, that have stayed with me: Misery (read in a day, on a drive back from the shore); Skeleton Crew (with "The Mist"); Different Seasons (with "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption"); and The Stand. At the time I consumed The Stand, I thought it was the greatest book EVER. I've since changed my mind (I now think John Kruk's I Ain't an Athlete, Lady ... is the greatest book EVER), but I must at some point go back and re-read it.

In the meantime, these Marvel collections will do ...

Thanks, Ken.

Rob
EightE1

Re: Book Review: Stephen King’s “The Stand: Captain Trips”

It should be noted the introduction is probably written by the comic book editor Ralph Macchio, who's been with the company for 20+ years, not "The Karate Kid" Ralph Macchio.

Re: Book Review: Stephen King’s “The Stand: Captain Trips”

"There’s also an introduction by Ralph Macchio."

Now *there's* a selling point!

Re: Book Review: Stephen King’s “The Stand: Captain Trips”

Huge fan of Stephen King, and "The Stand" is one of his most resonant. I picked up this book--the adaptation of book I still re-read regularly and one that creeped me out all the more after the most recent swine flu scare--and was floored at how it brought the story to life. Sometimes comic adaptations go a little too far for the single-cell scare (akin to the around-the-campfire "and it was a BLOODY HAND!"), but this one gets it just right.
