But now you've hurt my feelings, David. See if I use that "Fall Guy" theme song after all!

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

My favorite Eastwood line is "I don't go for hunting. I just don't like killing creatures. Unless they're trying to kill me. Then that would be fine."

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

Brian the dog: "You stay up all night writing that joke?"

Peter Griffin: "No, I got to bed around two, two-thirty."

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

A man's got to know his term limitations.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

I think the mayor's term there is 2 years and he decided not to run again, probably because he felt nobody had the stones to get anything done.

At least, I like to think of it that way.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

Americans love celebrities. He was only mayor for two years -- does Carmel have shorter terms of office than most other cities, or did Eastwood quit in the middle of his term?

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

I do know that residents suspected that he wanted to be mayor only so he could change the regulations to allow a parking garage for his restaurant. The fools still voted for him by an absurd number like 70/30, then proceeded to bitch and moan about him.

Then he painted the town red and renamed it to Hell.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

Thanks, Arend. I didn't know that about Eastwood, but that's funny/scary. I did read that once he found himself in a Carmel resident's garage with some city council members who were determining if the slant of the resident's roof followed certain neighborly regulations, he decided he didn't want to be mayor anymore.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

Did you know that Clint Eastwood used to walk into Carmel city council meetings wearing a gun belt?

Nice article, Robert.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

An article I found did a "huckleberry" joke. I'm not a "Tombstone" fan, but last night as I was finishing up my fact checking I did think, "Oh, wait, people might expect a 'Tombstone' joke in here about upholding the law." But this article is already way too long as is, and I was sleepy.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

Does Kilmer have the heft to take on the massive challenges of political life, or is the great, expanding girth of his ego just too outsized for his anorexic inner-being? You touched on a wide, wide landscape of topics with this outing, Cholesterol - Uh, Robert.

Re: Sugar Water: Break On Through (to Another Side of Acting)

All that, and no "huckleberry" jokes?

What, low fruit?
