True story. The day after we recorded this, I e-mailed Jason and Jeff saying that I was in a restaurant and nearly ordered the French Onion soup.

    Jason's response: "I'd hit it."

    Does Top Ramen count?
  • jasonhare · 3 weeks ago
Seems a little stringy, but I wouldn't immediately say no. I'd give it a chance. Wait, with or without the flavor packet?
  • Ted · 3 weeks ago
I'm going to say without ... I think natural is best.
  • DwDunphy · 3 weeks ago
Doesn't matter what I choose, it always winds up gazpacho... Cold, cold, cold.

Top Ramen is the soup equivalent of a bad hooker: cheap and bad for your health, but it will do if you're desperate enough.
  • Ted · 3 weeks ago
I wasn't planning on making an evening out of it. After all, it's soup...well, sort of.

    I must say, I'd make mine a bisque. Something w/ a little texture, y'know?

Actually, there's a café a couple miles from my house that makes a really good tomato basil bisque that mightbe worth getting to know carnally. I imagine the order:

    Me: One bowl please.

Order-taker: Would you like crackers with that?

Me: No, thanks. And no spoon, either. Oh, and do you have any rubbers?
  • Michael Parr · 3 weeks ago
Because truthfully, you don't know where that soup's been...
  • dslifton · 3 weeks ago
Right. Who knows what it could have picked up on the streets of Tokyo.
  • DwDunphy · 3 weeks ago
And on that, why do I have the lyric, "Some In-do-nesian junk that's goin' rrrround" in my head?
  • EightE1 · 3 weeks ago
Well, that and, you know, I could get hungry later ... never mind.
  • DwDunphy · 3 weeks ago
There's nothing sexy about that bedroom talk.

"Is it soup yet? Is It Soup Yet? IS IT SOUP YET??!"

    Schproing.

    "CHOWDER!!"
  • EightE1 · 3 weeks ago
    No, you're saying it wrong: It's "CHOW-dah!"
  • DwDunphy · 3 weeks ago
Unlike Quimby, I would not enjoy that.

For the record there have been six "American Pie" related films which all started with the pitch "So this kid is drilling an apple pie on his parents kitchen counter". I don't know, Soup Fuckers might have legs!

I don't think I've ever been so proud.

"The last thing he did in '96... Breathe?" Brilliant.

    Finally: EnDoseMents?
  • DwDunphy · 3 weeks ago
I'm not liking this new comment lag-time.
  • DwDunphy · 3 weeks ago
Bloody hell. Anyway, they're releasing the complete Bloom County in twice-yearly editions.

Best quote - "Last thing Conrad Bain did in '96... Breathe?"

    Finally, what about EnDoseMents?
  • EightE1 · 3 weeks ago
    I like EnDoseMents.

True story, I had a friend who worked in a kitchen at a restaurant that had ties to the Russian mafia. He said there were always big burly Russian guys hanging around and soon, a couple of them were hired on in the kitchen. One of the biggest and burliest only knew two words of English - "Soup" and "Fucker" and he would shout those two words together at all times. He would yell "Soup fucker! Soup fucker!" at my friend - who was responsible for getting bowls of soup out of the kitchen. I wish I had his email address, I'm sure he would love to be reminded of that guy.
