I think someone on this site suggested I tune in. I was hesitant because I didn't think I would like a footbal show but now I am hooked. I agree it is the best show out there. TUNE IN.

I haven't watched Heroes or Madmen.
I do really like Rachel Maddow.

LOM has been doing some October Road references which I really like, I read they are going to start killing off October Road characters on Life on Mars. I don't like that idea at all. I still have hope OR will come back some day.

Re: The Three Strike Rule: Year-End Rants by Scott and Shaun

Let's not forget the time travel. What was a powerful and well-used device in Season 1has become ridiculous and worse than any Star Trek abuse in explaining/advancing story lines.

Re: The Three Strike Rule: Year-End Rants by Scott and Shaun

The problem with Heroes began when they decide to introduce a whole bunch of characters that were only half as interesting as the already established cast. Then, they tried to make these characters as important as the main cast. Finally, the writers fell under that network spell that says each and every character must appear in each episode and have their own plot in each episode. What this did was water down the storylines and make the show unbearable.

Re: The Three Strike Rule: Year-End Rants by Scott and Shaun

I actually enjoyed Heroes Season One a lot, was excited for Season Two and yet haven't bothered watching a single episode of 2 or 3. The key is that the twists and plot double-crosses in 1 genuinely shocked you, whereas as the twists I've read about in the subsequent seasons are "Aw, come on!" slapdash.

The crux of this year, from what I gather, is the whole "heroes becoming villains, villains becoming heroes" jazz, yet we still barely know these characters. Playing this fast and loose on the fly reveals the plot points as the bald-faced contrivances they are.

Re: The Three Strike Rule: Year-End Rants by Scott and Shaun

I don't think Rachel Maddow and 'even handed' should be used in the same sentence. I honestly like her and I really like the fact that she doesn't go off the handle and get emotional and over the top like so many others (Eugene Robinson is good too). But even handed she is not, c'mon.

Re: The Three Strike Rule: Year-End Rants by Scott and Shaun

Nothing for me to argue with here, although I still haven't watched Mad Men. I love FNL, think Heroes has sucked lately, and enjoy Rachel Maddow and Hulu. Campbell Brown comes off as too judgmental for me.
