We need MORE Kay Hanley, not less!!!!!

"Spin Around" has a glitch at about :38. Can you repost??
  • JonCummings · 10 months ago
I'll look at it in the morning and let you know if it's in my original file. If not, I'll definitely repost.

Blast! It turns out the problem is in my original file, and I can't find MP3s to purchase online. Anybody else have a clean copy of "Spin Around"??

I actually like the Josie movie, and have introduced several friends to it. (I didn't see it when it originally came out-I was also introduced after the fact.) I think it suffered from incorrect marketing as a "girl band who dreams big"...when it was really much more sarcastic than that. The over the top & incessant product placement is hilarious, and the songs are top notch. It definitely has its moments....and who knew Tara Reid could actually be funny?

There seems to be some problem with the opening of the files... could it be the "&"?

and there's no such thing as too much Kay.

Uh, what's with the snarky intro? From the perspective of an outsider, the opening seems like an elaborate in-joke that leaves a sour taste...

Write about Kay Hanley all you want, Jon.

Please tell me you recognize that I wrote that opening bit myself...

I gotta say, though, I don't think I have another word to say about Kay after this--unless she and Miley show up at my house to meet my daughter, in which case I'll write about her every week. I do agree, however, that too much Kay is nothin' but a good thing.

This was actually a surprisingly good movie. Conscious efforts were made to put product placements in every single shot of the movie, which gets hilarious as it goes on. Also the boy band with Breckin Meyer and Seth Green are hilarious for the 6 minutes they are on screen. Parker Posey and Alan Cumming chew huge scenery as well.

Three Small Words is a neat little song.

Very agreed! As a longtime Cleo fan, more Kay is not a problem!

How can you do a review of the soundtrack and not mention "I Wish You Well" by Anna Waronker, which she covered herself in her album "Anna"?
  • JonCummings · 10 months ago
Actually, I initially was going to post "I Wish You Well" -- a song I love -- but chose not to for some reason. Good on you for mentioning it, though! I need to check Anna's album out.

    It's worth it.
