I loved you review! You are a talented writer. Too bad you missed the point entirely with Mishka. I don't even like reggae; I would much prefer listening to Elliott Smith when I get mellow, but more often you will find me listening to bombastic bands like Turbo Negro especially when looking for "party" music.
Matthew McConaughey probably has no business running a record label. In fact, I never even heard of the cat before hearing Mishka's music... In terms of funding artistic enterprise, in this economic environment, you take it when you can get it and I don't fault Mishka for that.
I LOVE the new record. Mishka's voice is as soulful an instrument as I have heard and I hope he reaches a larger audience with or without Matthew McConaughey.
