Popdose: Video Game Review: “The Beatles: Rock Band”

"whatever foul taste was still left behind from that awful Across the Universe movie."

Not to dare question your obviously definitive opinion, but some would disagree with that statement.

Some would disagree. Not most critics, though: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/across_the_univ...

I am protective of my flock, it's true. But this was prompted more by the fact that I work for Rotten Tomatoes, and knew "'Across the Universe' sucked" isn't really a controversial statement.

But it did have its admirers, including me.

I guess I tend to overreact when someone presents a statement as absolute black or white fact when in reality shades of grey exist. It's a character flaw I have...so if I was out of line, sorry. And of course none of this has anything to do with whether the Rock Band game is worthwhile.

Not out of line at all! I know I tend to qualify almost everything in my reviews, but you have to take a stand once in awhile. I don't have an opinion either way -- once I caught a whiff of all the backstage drama, I skipped "Across the Universe" entirely.

That movie, at least in my group of friends, seems to be incredibly polarizing. Some love it, some loathe it.

I had to turn it off after 15 minutes. That Sgt. Peppers movie with Peter Frampton, the Bee Gees and Aerosmith was probably a better idea. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078239/
