Questions for Andy:

1) Whatever live XTC I have heard has been amazing - do you have the ability to release any more of the live recordings from when XTC was performing? I know some stuff has come out on "Coat of Many Cupboards", "Transistor Blast", etc but would love it if more could be released.

2) Can you describe your demo process, and how it has evolved? I know your early demos were you stomping and strumming, and they evolved into very well-developed recordings. What do you record first? Drum track? Also, how do you know when it is "done"?

3) Will you ever consider selling your art (drawings, paintings, etc)?

A weird, multi-faceted question, but what would you expect from a friend of a friend? Part one: Are you planning on working with Barry Andrews again in the near future (as Monstrance, with Shriekback, or in some other unholy incarnation)? Part two: Do you ever miss the Psychedelic days of the Dukes and have you ever seriously considered resurrecting them in some incarnation or three? Part three: Would you consider enjoying a spot of homemade macaroni-n-cheese, my treat, if I ever make it back to England?

If I have a question, it's where does the inspiration come from, especially late in the game? For instance, after a long run of critically praised albums, things that have pop fanatics falling on themselves over, we get Apple Venus Vol. One and the one/two of "I Can't Own Her" and "Harvest Festival". Now, I know the real-life backstory (Andy's divorce) but these two songs just reduce me every time I hear them. Where in the world does that come from?

How did (do) you feel about the "Testimonial Dinner" tribute?

A lot of us see Oranges and Lemons as seminal work -- what, if anything, would you have done differently with that record in hindsight and how does it hold up in your mind?

I heard it reported that some new recording was done by Andy and Colin on some uncompleted XTC demos, for upcoming reissue packages -- is that true? I'm super psyched if it is.

It was my understanding that Colin pretty much removed himself from all his former associates and has chosen not to reveal his current addresses to them. Now, I don't know if that's just dry English wit masking the possibility he told everyone to F-off, or he did, in fact, go to ground.

Having spat all that out, I concur with you and would hope Dave would be welcomed with open somethings as well.
