I was a fan of Bowie , seeing him in the early 70's,and then was turned on to Jobriath by an older girlfriend, who was into the whole androgenis thing,
.She was in love with Nureyev, and anyone that was asexual, at the time.
This was the time of Glam Rock , and it needs to be wholly documented before,

I wonder why another label/mgt company didn't see the potential for a Peter Allen-like career for this guy. He definitely had the personality to pull it off.

It wasn't so much Elektra than his manager, Jerry Brandt - Brandt was a bit of a high roller then, managing Carly Simon, etc. and he took a bath on Jobriath. No one knows except them, but there seems to have been some real bad blood between the two.

Why did Elektra forbid him to record for ten freaking years? Because it would kill the non-existent sales of his first couple records I take it?
