"Drug Girls" (from "Simpatico!") was a mix-tape staple of mine for quite awhile, but I've never gotten around to picking up any of their other discs. Maybe it's time I did.

¡Simpatico! was a really good pop album. It's a shame that not only is the band defunct but, apparently, so are the careers of the individual participants...

Great entry! I loved these guys. Very fun live. Lots of absurd between song patter from Archie, e.g. one that always stuck in my memory for some reason: "the town we come from is so tough, the phone books are shaped like canoes" ???:)???

I absolutely loved this group, especially the earlier stuff like their cover of Echo & The Bunnymen's "Seven Seas" and "My Forgotten Favorite". I saw them perform live several times and they never failed to impress me. And just like every other indie boy, and a few indie girls as well, I had a major crush on Sarah. I still play Copacetic regularly, it is by far one of my favorite albums and came out during one of my favorite eras in music history. throughout the 90's, if I'm not mistaken, Copacetic was the second biggest seller on Sub Pop behind Nirvana's Bleach. Many of the members are still making music in other bands and Sara Shannon has released and performed music as a solo artist. Sadly, it is nothing like Velocity Girl. Too bad. It's nice to see them getting some love though. Thanks.

Thank you for posting this! I had only heard bits and pieces about Velocity Girl, but never their music. For some reason, I heard more about Starry Eyes and Sarah Shannon's work on the Free Design tribute compilation.
