    Yes, bravo. Brilliantly funny.

And that's the actual album cover? Is that an orange?
  • jefito · 1 month ago
That's an expandofruit. Haven't you ever had one? They taste like old prunes.
  • DwDunphy · 1 month ago
See, I was thinking Expando: steroid or erectile dysfunction drug?

Mellow Gold Theatre simultaneously brightens and ruins my day.

"Eventually, the Eagles reunion rescued Schmit from a lifetime of waiting for an opening in Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band."

    Ow.
  • jefito · 1 month ago
What, you think Schmit would be better off than, say, Roger Hodgson if the reunion hadn't happened?
  • David_E · 1 month ago
Aw, geez. I like Roger Hodgson even more.

My Fantasy Rock Star team would go down in flames before the freakin' draft was even over.
  • jefito · 1 month ago
I like Hodgson more too! I was one of the 15 Americans who paid for "Open the Door."
  • DwDunphy · 1 month ago
Now he sings "Give A Little Bit" with a hat in his hand.
  • dslifton · 1 month ago
So we have he Goo Goo Dolls to blame?
  • DavidMedsker · 1 month ago
I had completely, blissfully forgotten both song and video for "Boys Night Out" until about five minutes ago. Fuck you, Giles.

    *claps, dances*

There were no worries on me hunting this down, but that puts the nails in the coffin as far as I'm concerned. But the Yahoo/Reuters link re: his new album...did you read this part? "That includes the Blind Boys of Alabama, who showed up in their van -- someone else was driving --" No, Really?
  • Malchus · 1 month ago
"Kept it straight just long as I had to..." Boys night out, indeed.
  • DwDunphy · 1 month ago
I still envision Don Felder outside of the Azoff compound with a boombox over his head, blasting, "Take This Job And Shove It".

" ... a singing voice that combines the estrogen-frosted purity of Christopher Cross with the raw energy of an angry Art Garfunkel." That should go on a sticker, right on the front of the album.

Are we all not sinners in the hands of an angry Garfunkel?

Erlewine also gave four stars to Paris Hilton's album. Just sayin'.

The album is available on vinyl.....but will your turntable tell you to F off when you try to play it?

From the Allmusic review, in the moods section: gentle, intimate, sweet, reflective, yearning......GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE, TIMOTHY B. SCHMIT!
  • Elaine · 1 month ago
Well...he did sing the cover "So Much In Love" in Fast Times. Does that count as a successful solo performance, or embarrassing? (This is the only song with which I ever identify Timothy B. Schmit.)

For someone who considers Timothy B to be my John Lennon in terms of pure musical enjoyment, with his halcyon days certainly being with Poco, especially after Richie went to join the SHF band...I'm glad you have taken the time to cover him in such detail...even if it more condicending than not...you are certainly entitled to your opinion and it makes me not rush to buy Expando. Thanks for your time, though....very interesting reading. Go back and listen to Poco's "Keep on Tryin".

Why do you hate John Lennon?
  • robertglassman · 3 weeks ago
I don't hate John Lennon at all....loved what he stood fro....I'm just a
country rocker (unless that email was written in the same tongue in cheek as
the article- then you got me!

    Best
    Bob
